As a special treat for spring break, all eight Harry Potter movies will be shown March 28–April 3. Screenings will be held at 7 p.m. each day with an added 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday, April 3.

Baby Yoda makes me happy humans make my head hurt shirt

 Jo Ann Jenkins, AARP’s chief executive officer, will discuss and sign her new book “Disrupt Aging: A Bold New Path to Living Your Best Life At Every Age” at the Library of Congress on Wednesday, April 20 at noon. In the book, Jenkins urges her readers to challenge outdated beliefs and stereotypes about aging and be a part of creating new solutions to the issues of aging, so more people can have choices about how they want to live as they get older. “I want to disrupt the way we age in America,” Jenkins said.

Bigfoot Social Distancing World Champion Vintage shirt

 The exhibition is free and open to the public Monday through Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. It will remain open for a year, closing on May 6, 2017. The exhibition is made possible by the Swann Foundation for Caricature and Cartoon, and is the first in a series of events the Library is planning in connection with the centennial of the United States’ entry into World War I.  An additional 70 photographs will be shown in a monitor slide show. The works on display reflect the focus of wartime art on patriotic and propaganda messages—by government-supported as well as independent and commercial artists. In the fall, an exhibition rotation will occur and 27 new items will be placed on display. A total of 40 artists will be represented.

007 59 years 1962 2021 signatures thank you for the memories shirt

  In addition to producing a long-running television series—“The Marty Stuart Show”—Stuart has produced soundtracks for several films, including “All The Pretty Horses,” for which he received a Golden Globe nomination. For decades, he also has channeled his creative talent as a highly respected photographer. His photographs have been exhibited in museums and published in books. In addition to being an avid collector of country-music memorabilia, Stuart served as president of the Country Music Foundation, which manages the Country Music Hall of Fame.

 Carruthers has held visiting fellowships at the Russell Sage Foundation, the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study and the Institute for Advanced Study in Berlin. Using research facilities and services at the Library of Congress, the scholar is expected to explore the history of America with special attention to the ethical dimensions of domestic economic, political and social policies, and present a lecture on the research at the end of the tenure. Grand Ole Opry star and multiple Grammy Award winner Marty Stuart has amassed one of the largest private collections of memorabilia documenting country-music history.

 Letters About Literature is a dynamic educational program that promotes lifelong readers and helps develop successful writers. It is the Library’s signature national outreach program to young people. More than 1 million students have participated in the writing contest since it began more than 20 years ago. An online teaching guide uses proven strategies for improving reading and writing proficiency and is aligned with the learning objectives recommended by the National Council of Teachers of English and the International Literacy Association.
