We are doing over 50s and over 40s here in my town. Caroline Baker yes I understand that but I do know of over 70s that have responded to the invitation by their doctor but have now received an invitation to book their 2nd dose. So maybe depends on individual doctors practices but I hope your mum gets her 2nd soon as it is supposed to be within 12 weeks most that I know their 2nd has been 11 weeks.

It will either be via a physical letter or an email that will not use a link but will tell you to go to their site yourself. Granted they are getting craftier and it is getting harder to discern between the real and fakes. Had it through our GP practices, phoned hubby up and booked both appointments, one for same day, 2nd for 12 weeks time.  Either do all schools or none. the small school I used to work at has had numerous members of staff spend Christmas very ill with the virus and have consequently spread it to their immediate family members. Contracted at the school from a child attending unknowingly asymptomatic. The children in question with the virus are fine but my friends husband is now in hospital. It is unfair to expect staff in schools to put themselves at risk like this. I can only speak as a parent. Our local primary had 2 cases in different year groups. Both positive cases were adults. NONE of the kids contracted it despite being in very close contact with the adults, one in the pre school and one year 4. NONE of the families of the kids in those bubbles contracted it. This backs up the science that suggests 1.

  I work in one, there is no social distancing, no masks worn, over crowded classrooms, 90 children and 8-10 adults sitting/working in the dining room everyday......the area I live in is in Tier 4 and has an extremely high transmission rate and yet I will have to return to work in a Covid unsafe environment whilst being told how dangerous it is to leave my house......absolutely appalling! I work in a primary and unfortunately 8 staff tested positive with the virus, including me. We wear masks and sanitise and adhere to the rules with bubbles. Staff should be given the vaccination to protect themselves as well as the children and our families. I think that is school specific when it comes to the mixing, especially when it comes to reducing transmission rate.

 Here are a few suggestions. Let undet 13 start at 8am make classes smaller . Small break staggered. Send home at 1pm quick clean start over 13 2pm same procedure finish at 7pm. Research had shown teenagers perform better late afternoon. Obviously masks and testing. You people should stop acting like after this locked down, COVID-19 is over. Once the summer comes and go, the virus will start sparking again in the winter. We never going to have that normal flu again but a corona virus so the sooner we accept it, the better for us all. Most of you are okay in this locked down while others are dying of the real virus which is hunger!! Sitting home and not being able to care for your family is far more worse than the virus! The facts are as a country we did everything too late. People were even still going abroad up until very recently ridiculous. I'm not worried about coronavirus my bf has a rare disease doesn't affect him respiratory even he's fed up with important hospital appointments being cancelled not being able to get the care he needs.

 If we do continue in this lockdown till April then why not use these 2 months as children’s holidays & then have the school term open during July & august for children to catch up & try to get them back to a continuous learning pattern. Stopping & starting is not achieving the results for our children. If the government is still balancing the economy with the epidemic, it is clear that the virus is winning. Because our economy has been damaged, our children's education has been delayed for a year, more than 100,000 people have died. The virus continues to spread, has not been eliminated, and has many variants that could make our vaccine useless. If it continues to prevail, our future will be in an endless downward spiral, with children's futures swinging back and forth between schooling and home-schooling.

 Other than pubs and bars, everything else seems to be open, more people on the streets, more cars on the road than ive seen in a long time, groups stopping for chats. This is not a lockdown, the first lockdown seems like solitary confinement compared to this free for all. Schools are already ‘open’ for pupils where workers are key workers. Schools locally I know are already 1/2 full of pupils which at current time is ridiculous. Remote learning for younger kids is not practical but if it’s a choice between this and putting pressure on overloaded schools where teachers are out at risk I know which I’d choose. I have a grandson of 16 he is leaving school in the summer if he gets his grades he has an apprenticeship.The thing I have noticed he is loosing interest in many things,

  Maybe for younger kids it could be beneficial, I don't know, but not teens - we could simply teach them how to use them sensibly. the phones should only be used in case of emergency within school but knowing kids they will always try to be sneaky and try to use them whenever the teachers are not looking it is a tough call to make you want the kids to be safe to and from school and something might happen where you need to get hold of them in an emergency against them playing on the phone when they should be studying. All schools are required by law to place free public phones in the schools to mitigate against parents complaining that their children need phones for emergencies. The reason China is doing this is because of online games and constant push notifications forcing kids to focus on their phones 24/7.

  Yes some make up, maybe curl or dye the hair but it's all removable, you can always go back to the start if something doesnt suit. Messing with your body or face, especially if you're already half way up the attractive ladder is just vanity.
