That is part of what is a result of climate change that is happening due to human activity. Yes, some areas have not been cool burnt to reduce the hazard, but that wouldn't stop some of the fires we have been having though. Botshelo Theetso yes and some were started with lightning strikes and some because the wind changed. Many different reasons. At the moment the focus is on putting them out and trying to ensure as little damage as possible.

They should be banned from general purchase and a noise restriction imposed on all public licensed displays. There are better more modern alternatives to outdated, overly noisy and expensive fireworks. For us the New Year's Eve fireworks may be magical and exciting, but for many animals this night is associated with an incredible amount of stress! In some cities, the New Year's Eve crackers are even prohibited.

  The loud fireworks we have today are a recent thing. Ever been to a display in Italy or Spain, where it’s almost silent?My daughter is autistic, she wears noise canceling headphones. It works perfectly fine. I train my dogs and keep them inside. The world is loud. Fireworks have been around for centuries. Here we go again trying to bubble wrap the world..... by the way my husband is a retired Navy vet. I can tell you fighter jets are much louder and scare animals as well. Plus the sounds they produce happen more frequently than fireworks.

  If someone is having a celebration and intends to set some off, why not pre-warn people via social media. At least you would be somewhat prepared. I suppose that's to hard for folk to do. The problem is that people are generally irresponsible and only consider what they want. Whilst I love fireworks, I think it is time that they should only be available to organised displays and then they are safely controlled and not going off at random times and random days. People can then enjoy fireworks and those with pets can keep them safe and calm - better for wildlife and should save the fire service a whole lot of trouble.

 Caroline Baker my 2nd booked the same time as booked my first. I'm 67 and 2nd dose is 10th May. I know of others well outside my area but still in the north west that have their 2nd doses booked or have had it so maybe it depends on the area but everyone over 50 should just be able to access the NHS website and book their appointments no invitations necessary. We are doing over 50s and over 40s here in my town. Caroline Baker yes I understand that but I do know of over 70s that have responded to the invitation by their doctor but have now received an invitation to book their 2nd dose. So maybe depends on individual doctors practices but I hope your mum gets her 2nd soon as it is supposed to be within 12 weeks most that I know their 2nd has been 11 weeks.
