I know some countries are now making all unsold food be given to shelters which is a great idea, but we as a society still need to reduce the massive wastage not only in food but in all the items we have. A great deal of products cannot even be repaired they are just replaced. This is what I believe Joanna is trying to get across. As for poverty that is due to insatiable greed of power, control and money. Here's a radical idea to help CO2 reduction. Every roof, house or business, to be fitted with solar panels free of charge to feed directly into the grid. Surely that would reduce the use of coal and gas Power Stations. Colm Carton I've wondered for a long time why there isn't a government policy for all new build houses to have solar panels as a requirement.

I think it’s valuing not mollycoddling… if you don’t take care of nurses, teachers, police officers etc people leave and they struggle to recruit… if we don’t have public sector workers we all suffer! The system should be robust enough so that nobody pays the “price” be it a fiscal one or a personal one! It's not known as the oldest profession for nothing as it's been happening since the mists of time so no amount of legislation is going to stop it, what's needed are safe spaces for these women to go.  So much misery- but women should be allowed to work together in houses where they might be moderately safer than they are on the streets. The drug situation is also too complex for a one size fits all but one thing's for certain - the war on drugs is stupid. The police, tax payer and addicts pay the price and violent thugs/ criminals make a profit. Time to change this! I personally hated going to ipswich because of this exactly.

 They could try. Parents should still monitor what sites their children are viewing. Phone is okay, fb is okay as long as you are also there to educate youngsters that there are issues that their mind can not fully grasp yet. Also, communication is important esp if something started to bug the children's mind. Ultimately it is a parents responsibility to know what their child is doing. In my opinion kids under 16 should not be using social media, if I had my way it would be 18. Social media is a toxic cesspool, even more so for the younger generation. These kids are not fully formed mentally and social media absolutely plays a huge role in damaging mental health, causing anxiety and other behavioural issues. It is not the control of the world around us we need to protect our children, it is the fact we have protects them too much. Professor Jonathan Heights has researched this,

  I don t feel safe to go anywhere indoor with my 10mo lo, as nobody is wearing a mask and infections are so high. We need to protect the most vulnerable ones, the ones who can t wear a mask or having a jab and the government position on this is unacceptable. I flew to England yesterday from Mallorca. Our cases are very low, but we still have to wear masks in supermarkets, shops etc. In the airport they are telling people must have masks on at all times There were people sitting without them on whilst waiting for flight Then on the plane some kept taking their masks down. It made me nervous and annoyed. Some people just don't care. I will be wearing my mask while I am here visiting my family With the attitude of some people it will never be gone “15 million jabs to freedom” went well then. You’ve taken their medicine and will still spend the winter protecting a multi billion pound corporation built to protect you. Oh, and they’re sacking staff for fun in said corporation.

The simplest way to stop the spread of disease is wash hands, socially distance, wear a mask. The areas of the greatest incidents of Covid infections are holiday hotspots. Pembrokeshire was rife 2 weeks ago, now infection rates are dropping because the tourists have gone home. And local people are back distancing, wearing masks and getting vaccinated.

 And I couldn't bear anymore seeing people treated as clients and not as patients. Yes staff is overwhelmed that's a fact I think the governement can do what is needed. Not only that but each year the amount of money going to the NHS isn't keeping up with population growth and inflation so the funding gap is increasing. People are leaving the NHS in droves especially after the last wave which really took it's toll. A greater number of high dependency patients were in hospital which means they need a higher staff to patient ratio so staff were pulled from low dependency wards leaving the low dependency wards even more short staffed with 1 person caring for 9 people at times.

  I can’t help Thinking we need to work extra hard on a pro prophylaxis and early treatment them open up and get everything going again. Steve Haskey regardless of what the government says I always wear a mask and am constantly using the sanitising gels provided in shops if I go out but I Don’t understand why it seems more people don't do it than do. But wearing a mask costs me nothing, doesn't even inconvenience me and it can help reduce transmission and harm to others. I can get on with my normal life with one little bit of fabric.   I was on the phone for nearly an hour the other morning before work trying to get through and I gave up. I tried to make an appointment online via my surgeries website and there were none left for October! No amount of money is going to change the way surgeries have always operated. Can we please not forget that it's these surgeries that have singlehandedly vaccinated this nation. They are massively understaffed, and demoralised. Some considering leaving to become HGV drivers so they dont have the constant pressures of patients every 10 minutes. The anxiety of possibly contracting covid with every face to face appointment. These workers came into the profession to care for people but instead they are so overwhelmed and facing such a backlash. They are constantly expected to give more whilst resources are reduced. As a nation we have faced the stresses and gone to them for help to deal with the depressive states we find ourselves in, so who do they go to? When they feel they can't give more?

  Three people have lost their lives, how about just paying your respects and reserving your judgments until after the facts are established? Anyone think that maybe they'd all had enough and decided not to die alone? Rather than just lying there, that's bizarre. None of us know what it's like being a migrant, I imagine its pretty terrible and stressful. Perhaps they thought it was the euro train and getting under the axles and clinging on and finish up in the UK but i do think they should have made sure they were on the right track and waiting for the train to actually stop would have been a better plan. Everyone saying how tragic it is yes it is but no one made them lay on the track and the poor driver didn't deserve this to happen to him i can only feel sorry for the driver. What did they think would happen to them lying on a track. Thoughts and sympathies to the train driver who did nothing wrong but will be affected for the rest of his life.

 As for people saying see a nurse, I can't my specialist tells me when to see doc and a nurse will not do. The GP surgery are trying to brush this under the carpet. One of their responses was "the receptionist is no longer in employment with them". She was at the time. Both myself and my husband are in the care of this GP surgery and although it is not directly the GPs fault there are a number of issues at the surgery. I have 3 monthly B12 injections and on one occasion ( a couple of months after my daughter had passed away) I went for this B12 injection to be told to get on the couch and remove my pants. I replied to the nurse that this injection hurts enough when jabbed into my arm and no way is she jabbing it anywhere where my pants need to be removed. The nurse asked what I thought I was having done. I said I had rang the day previously for my B12 injection as it was overdue.

 Nurses and other healthcare professionals are working to the level of burn out in order to keep services running and believe me being paid low wages. Keep abusing frontline staff and the issue of lack of staff will only get worse. NHS today cannot recruit anymore, abuse is one of the reason people no longer wants to work in healthcare! Ana Pra I agree, it is a very sad and scary situation. As healthcare workers we want to do our job well but we have to look after ourselves too. When it gets too much you will have to take a good hard look and decide whether you are prepared to put up with it any longer. It was very hard for me to make the decision to leave but it had to be done. I know plenty of others who are leaving the NHS completely like me or applying for jobs within the NHS that have less stress, less frontline work. We have recently had yet another alert for staff to leave the premises carefully due to someone threatening to beat us all up.

 Not likely to happen anytime soon though because Tory Government! my husband finds out Monday if he loses any pay , 2 main income earners together in ours , me and my husband potentially could lose 10 days pay ! all wrong , wouldn't of minded but we stuck to the rules etc , worked the whole way through blah blah and get f**k all for it. I am vaccinated, I feel fine, I have had a positive test. My son had a negative one but the same symptoms as his positive siblings. I am on minimum wage and currently taking that hit! So no, i definitely can't support anyone else but what if i had just sent my negative test son into school (which is the policy now). His whole class would have got it, most likely. Then they would have spread it to all their parents and family. Amy Kind no one has the time or the finances to isolate for every virus. It’s not being selfish or irresponsible it’s a matter of being able to pay for food and a roof for for children it not.
