  They will not intervene if a person has capacity. Still tragic though. Unfortunately for various reasons people slip through the net. It can be so tragic . Also lots of people refuse all help even although they have severe problems. Support systems are in a catch 22 situation a lot of the time. They will not intervene if a person has capacity. The biggest cop off the social services do is they work under a misguided belief that if a person is not displaying an appropriate measure of of self-help that they cannot help!!! False narrative and an excuse for their own inadequacy. it's not a good experience when a scumbag judges you not worthy of government assistance.

  Why did they not come check on him? Why didn’t have to go to monthly check in with a social or mental counselor? Who paid for his apartment the government? If this is the case shouldn’t they have sent someone to check on him as he wasn’t checking in? This poor man was left to die because of a broken governmental. Siobhan we have things called food banks that give free food. Not getting your benefits doesnt stop you from eating. You cant really do anything about cancer as there still isnt a cure. Also we need to stop blaming other for such things people need to start taking responsibility for their own actions.

 If the BBC wants to reduce it spending, suggest it stops sending more than one reporter to do a news report on the same thing. Stop suddenly sending their main news reporters to other side of the world, when they've already got people. Stop paying presenters ridiculous salaries for a few hours work a week, especially for those who can manage to work other broadcasters like BT sport. This is so shortsighted &quality will suffer programmes like World Update are interesting and informative to listeners like me in the UK, who don't want to listen to Rad 4 etc at that time.

 Little by little the BBC has allowed itself to become a mouthpiece for the government, with an uncritical, fearful stance towards them, over licence fees. Shameful. Why send somebody outside Buckingham Palace etc when there is nothing to see Clive mari was sent to Australia when they have there own reporters and a good example jenny Hill reporting from Germany the other night, what do these reporters due all the other times they are not on air rediculous send them home. Chasing a youth audience that are not interested at the risk of undermining your core product and audience seems a pretty barmy strategy to me.
