 I know of others well outside my area but still in the north west that have their 2nd doses booked or have had it so maybe it depends on the area but everyone over 50 should just be able to access the NHS website and book their appointments no invitations necessary. We are doing over 50s and over 40s here in my town. Beryl June Reader no its correct, my mum had hers at a hub sent by her doctor as she has underlying problems but now the same hub is doing 40’s and my sisters rang the doctor every week since the 9th week and all she gets told is “they don’t know when she’ll be getting her second”. Had it through our GP practices, phoned hubby up and booked both appointments, one for same day, 2nd for 12 weeks time. I think it depends where you are, but I know others using the bigger hubs, also had both appointments.

  That is scary. Becci Crochet silly, it's not about infection rates. High school kids are more likely to be left alone without supervision, primary school kids need a parent at home, which means less ppl in work, bigger affect on economy. They are not even staying open for key workers this time. It's an 'extended holiday'. Becci Crochet could be because primary school children can kept safe. Washing hands, kept within there play bubbles. Be brought home and kept within the household bubble. High school through to university kids some will take no notice. Then go out with there mates to God knows where. Angela Roberts ah but they often go home to older brothers and sisters who the government are semi protecting as they appear to be infection carriers. Again the government is using teachers and their support staff as child minders. Teachers (as in my family can and do catch Covid19 ).

 This is a hard situation for everyone, but there are other ways to maintain contact with friends and family. This is a transition period to a new way to live, including education. Schooling was already an outdated form of organising education, invented for the needs of the Victorians. Their education isn't destroyed, just the inflexible schooling system that isn't fit for purpose other than the real one- mass childcare whilst the parents are forced to work. Andy Brown you do realise that the Tory government have cut funding to CAMHS, cut funding to other child mental health counselling, closed down youth clubs? Nobody but those working in education and with children batted an eyelid but now it’s a problem because is teachers want to make sure that we and our students are safe.

 Either do all schools or none. the small school I used to work at has had numerous members of staff spend Christmas very ill with the virus and have consequently spread it to their immediate family members. Contracted at the school from a child attending unknowingly asymptomatic. The children in question with the virus are fine but my friends husband is now in hospital. It is unfair to expect staff in schools to put themselves at risk like this. I can only speak as a parent. Our local primary had 2 cases in different year groups. Both positive cases were adults. NONE of the kids contracted it despite being in very close contact with the adults, one in the pre school and one year 4. NONE of the families of the kids in those bubbles contracted it. This backs up the science that suggests 1.
