Asquith and Stanley Baldwin. The Center for the Book in the Library of Congress was established in 1977 to stimulate public interest in books and reading. Its projects and publications are supported primarily by private contributions from individuals, corporations, and foundations.A special display of items from the Library's collections related to presidential inaugurations will open Saturday, Jan. 18, in the Great Hall of the Library's Thomas Jefferson Building, 10 First St. S.E., and will remain on view through Saturday, Jan. 25.
