 So many families living outside their means! Credit cards/store cards etc!! This pandemic will be a leveler for a hell of a lot of people. The benefits system is kind enough, maybe too kind. This government has refused to explain why they think people on universal credit needed an extra twenty pounds a week to survive the pandemic when they left people on legacy benefits to surviving on £74 a week. The parents who are on universal credit and received an extra twenty pounds a week since April could buy a lot of extra food for their kids with that money. The government gave generously to councils to feed the kids but they decided to spend it on useless projects. They should be ashamed of themselves. Government debts have to be repaid via direct and indirect taxation. The increase in these taxes hit the poorest working families the hardest.
