The article mentions polling that suggests a strong majority in favour of it, so seems good to get it done. So a bit like the misleading labels on tins of sardines and tuna. Companies can skew what's written to make everyone think they're being ethical when, in reality, they're only doing it for profit. If they cared they would produce smaller packaging, REINVENT THE WHEEL. Instead, they'll use more ink to print on more cardboard, more reasons to buy the products from them. Not to help the planet but to increase sales. Hmm, what about consequent increase of compliance costs, and… carbon footprint of additional calculations and printing of these labels? And who would guarantee it is not a random number for marketing. So many creatives have had designs stolen from them by Shein. They also don't seem very environmental friendly.
