We've got to question it. Curtis the most financial crippling thing a government can do is lockdown. It's literally the total opposite of what you're suggesting. This variant was already in most countries before it was announced. The problem can at best be curtailed not stopped. Here in UK I suspect there are far more cases than have so far been detected/ announced.
